hiking is very famous in the area and you have hundreds of trails to choose from as well as countless mountain peaks to conquer. The top of Oberaudorfs Brünnstein provides a wonderful view to the Inn Valley, the Kaiser Mountains in Austria and the Zillertal Glacier. In Brannenburg you can take a funicular to the top of Wendelstein, observe the beautiful view all the way to Italy, then hike down the mountain.

Oberaudorf has its own ski area which is fabulous for beginners and fun for the advanced, especially at night under the longest floodlit ski slope in Germany. There is a funpark for snowboarders and cross country skiers have a track that encompasses the whole of Oberaudorf. Across the boarder in Austria only 25 minutes away is the largest ski area of Austria, www.skiwelt.at, which connects a number of different resorts including Scheffau/Ellmau. The world famous Kitzbühel is 45 minutes away. In summer it is also possible to ski on the nearby glaciers of Hintertux or Stubai.
not far from here in Aschau is the Residence Heinz Winkler where you can enjoy the 2 star cuisine of one of the most famous chefs in Germany, Heinz Winkler. The 3 star gourmet chef Christian Jürgens is also not far away at the beautiful Seehotel Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern. Stanglwirt in Going is also worth a visit. In Oberaudorf itself is the popular mountain restaurant Tatzlwurm. There is also no lack of good Bavarian food to be enjoyed at the many guesthouses and typical mountain restaurants in the area.
Munich, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Kufstein, Kitzbühel and the famous King Ludwig castles Neuschwanstein and Herrenchiemsee. Very scenic are the Bavarian lakes, Tegernsee, Chiemsee, Spitzingsee. Highly recommended is a day trip to Lake Garda in Italy.
